Opportunities and Events at the Thomas Shop

Courses

In conjunction with The Wool Emporium we are running a series of courses and training events throughout 2007.

Exhibitions

In the Pressing Room Gallery we are featuring The Wool Emporium with three planned Showcases. Currently running until the end of September is the first Showcase, the second will run until the end of January 2008 and be followed by the third which will finish in May 2008.
In the Laundry we are planning a series of monthly exhibitions.

The Thomas Shop has become a popular destination for a wide range of community groups who may come to visit the Attraction and have afternoon tea or an evening meal. We would be happy to discuss your specific requirements.

Weddings

We are now licensed for the solemnisation of marriages and these ceremonies can be held in both rooms in the Meeting House and also in the Laundry. If you want we can help you to plan every aspect of that very special day, the ceremony, the flowers, the catering, the clothes, and the music. There is a particular magic to each of the rooms and we can cater for people with access difficulties if you chose to use the ground floor provides a similar space and the laundry can cater for larger numbers, over 25 and up to 50. To complete the day we can also lay on the reception either in the Laundry or for larger number again we can book the Community Hall, just 3 doors away.

Parties
The Thomas Shop is that very special place to celebrate a happy event or to bring together a group of friends. Whether it is Christmas, fancy dress, murder mystery, or just to have fun the distinctive atmosphere of the Thomas Shop could be just what you are looking for.

Conferences, Seminars or Training Days
We are fully equipped with Powerpoint, OHP, White Boards, Flip Charts and to cater for small conferences, seminars or training events. Depending on the style we can manage up to fifty people. You can also hire other rooms for break-out activities and smaller groups sessions.

Workshop Space
If you are looking for a workshop to take forward your craft business that is linked to an exciting and progressive project then we are developing three units which we hope will be ready from September 2004.
